Lest you think I have been in complete hibernation . . .

These two pen & ink drawings are for a project I am working on which will hopefully come to light in the not-too-distant future. They are inspired by a great deal of Art Nouveau illustration and book design. The thorny vines are intended to be stylized wild rasberries while the plants at their feet are bloodroot.

Actually they remind me more of Norse knotwork not dissimilar to celtic but not the same. Nice clean draftsmanship.

I agree, the knotwork is closer stylistically to Norse rather than Celtic.

:iconthumbplz: lovely piece though. I like both styles also Saxon art and any medieval style, paintings, tapestries, woodcuts, in fact any decrotive art from 500 BC to about 1100 AD.

Thank you :) We'll see...I have been on a skeletal creature kick lately.

Absolutely gorgeous... I am especially enamored by the skull/heart imagery. Heart as life-giver while bones indicate mortality. These creatures exist somewhere in between. Very nice
