Description

If you would like to view more of my jewelry, please visit my other DA account specifically dedicated to my jewelry-making endeavors: !

This is my very first custom, commissioned piece of jewelry. It was created as a truly unique anniversary gift. The individual for whom it was created has an affinity for satyrs, and so she requested that I create a Faery Mask of a female satyr. We discussed color schemes, and decided on a palette primarily of yellow-greens and olive-greens with some pale yellows and dark reds as accent colors. After her approval of some preliminary sketches, I began to sculpt the mask itself. This mask in particular proved to be much more challenging than previous ones. There are actually wire armatures within the horns and both of the ears to lend additional support to those portions.

measurements • adjustable necklace is approximately 17.5"-19.5" in length with handmade clasp • the mask itself, not including the beaded adornments, is approximately 2" wide by 1.25" in length at its greatest points

materials • hand-sculpted and hand-painted polymer clay Faery Mask pendant; freshwater pearls; genuine garnet beads; swarovski crystal beads; glass beads; ribbon; copper wire; copper leaf charms

More of my jewelry can be seen at Phee Adornments.
Photograph was taken by the wonderful Andrew Romano (~mybluestar) and is used with permission.

I feel remarkably stupid.

I just spent an hour searching for this series of jewelry masks, and I thought at the beginning, "Huh, reminds me of sphinxmuse's art." Stupid little me didn't even think to check your gallery since I didn't recall that you did sculpture, so I looked through a bunch of sculpture and artisan crafts galleries, gradually feeling more upset. And then finally, I came across this. And clicked it. And wanted to slap myself.

Anyways, I was wondering if I could use your series of masks as inspiration in a painting. ;) If not, that's fine of course. Either way, these are so insanely gorgeous.
